NGC 6118 is a grand design spiral galaxy located 83 million light years away in Serpens. It is infrequently imaged.
The galaxy is slightly larger than the Milky Way and has a small central bar.
The galaxy is relatively faint at magnitude 13 and has a low surface brightness.
